Transnational organized crime operations in Southeast Asia have scammed people out of billions of dollars. Using massive scam compounds — where tens of thousands of trafficking victims are forced to run scams — the enterprises use romance, cryptocurrency investment, and impersonation fraud to target thousands of people around the world. New research reveals that the already chilling scam compounds may now be targeting children.
