Crypto Coalition: Back to School, Week 2


The Operation Shamrock Crypto Coalition is presenting a two-week webinar sprint series to help active members of law enforcement build crypto investigation skills, from the most basic to the most complex.

The Crypto Coalition is a network of more than 2,000 local, state, federal, and international law enforcement partners. Together, they share best practices and participate in webinars that teach the ins and outs of cryptocurrency investigation and asset seizure. Join Crypto Coalition

Each weekday from September 29 to October 10, we will host a one-hour webinar at noon Eastern, 9 am Pacific. Members of the Crypto Coalition may register for each session individually using the links below

Week 2 Sessions

Day 6: Deconfliction & Working with other Jurisdictions
Monday, 10/6 — Learn the importance of collaboration in crypto cases. This session explores how to effectively work across agencies and jurisdictions, tools to prevent investigative overlap, and protocols for sharing intelligence. (Verifi Wallet)

Day 7: Crypto Seizures & Forfeiture
Tuesday 10/7 — A practical guide to seizing cryptocurrency during investigations. Learn legal requirements, technical processes, and considerations for managing and forfeiting digital assets securely and lawfully.

Day 8: Submitting Legal Processes
Wednesday, 10/8 — Get a detailed walkthrough of how to submit legal requests to cryptocurrency exchanges and service providers. Understand what documentation is required, turnaround expectations, and how to craft effective language. (Kodex)

Day 9: TRON & the Beacon Network
Thursday, 10/9 — A focused look at the TRON blockchain and its increasing use in illicit finance. Learn how the Beacon Network enhances visibility into TRON-based activity and how investigators can leverage it. (TRM Labs)

Day 10: Reviewing a Crypto Return 
Friday, 10/10 — Understand how to interpret and analyze records returned from crypto platforms. Learn what data is typically included, how to spot useful leads, and what follow-up actions to consider. (Binance)
